Self Portrait

This is my self portrait. I added a lack of emphasis by focusing on the background instead of me for an interesting perspective. My nose lies on an intersection point, and the table creates a line towards myself, so your eye is forced to go to my face, which is out of focus. I believe this makes me stick out even more. The 2pac poster also gives a contrast and relationship between my life and how he lived his.

Sunprint

This is my sunprint image. It consists of my keys. This was composed rather randomly, as I was a bit confused on how exactly this worked, but the detail of the keys and the texture turned out nicely.

My Choice

This is my favorite photo, and I picked it based on its composition, color, and lighting. I composed this photo so that the vine would be on one of the lines via the Rule of Thirds. The soft lighting also lit up the vines just right and the contrast between the green leaves and the somewhat orange vine and the gray tree also helped emphasize the vine. Also, the texture of the tree also helps focus, and the line created by the vine leads your eye up towards the photo, almost like a leading line.

Scanner Art

This is my Scanner Art photo that we worked on during class. I made the background into a desk and put random things that one would find on a desk. I added an interesting twist with the paper bag and the match, and utilized the burn tool to "burn" the paper bag. It was composed rather randomly, and there is a lot of color in the bills and all the items, which doesn't rob the focus on the match. There's good color balance, and I think although it was composed randomly, it's still aesthetically pleasing and balanced.

Principle of Design Photo - Pattern

This photo was taken during my trip to Hawaii, and it was short sort of randomly and came out quite well, in my opinion. It sort of breaks the rule of thirds, and puts it in a diagonal perspective. The contrast of the white blocks and the shadows also give the photo some "pop" and it seems like a very abstract photo.

Shutter Photo

This photo was taken at a performance of a band that I am managing. I used a slow shutter speed and this specific guitarist was moving a lot. The blur effect gave it a pictorial feel to it. The color in the photo also help create an artsy look. I added some noise in the post processing phase and it has a very balanced feel to it, with different colors in the right places that accent and contrast with each other.
